PUMA Launches ULTRA NITRO™ 7 as African Football Continues to Shape the Global Game
PUMA launches ULTRA NITRO™ 7, its fastest football boot yet, featuring NITROFOAM™ ELITE technology for the first time while centering African football partnerships.

PUMAhas unveiled the ULTRA NITRO™ 7, introducing what the company describes as its fastest football boot to date while placing African football firmly at the centre of its latest innovation.
Already seen on the world's biggest football stage this summer, the new boot is the first football boot to feature PUMA's NITROFOAM™ ELITE technology, bringing the cushioning system that has become synonymous with the brand's running footwear into football for the first time.

Designed with one objective in mind – speed – the ULTRA NITRO™ 7 incorporates NITROFOAM™ ELITE within both the sock liner and footbed, creating an underfoot platform engineered to compress and rebound quickly, delivering greater energy return with every stride.
The lightweight design continues throughout the boot. A newly engineered ULTRAWEAVE upper significantly reduces weight compared to previous generations while maintaining targeted support, allowing players to remain connected to the ball even at top speed.
Dominique Gathier, Vice President of Teamsport at PUMA, described the launch as an important milestone for the brand.
"Bringing NITRO™ to football, with its superior energy return and faster pace, and specifically to a boot built around pure speed, is a significant moment for us. The ULTRA NITRO™ 7 is the fastest boot we have ever made, and players are going to feel why the moment they put it on."

Rather than focusing solely on elite performance, PUMA is also using the launch to reinforce its long-standing relationship with African football, highlighting the continent's growing influence on the modern game.
The company points to its partnerships with national federations including Morocco, Ghana, Senegal, Côte d'Ivoire and Egypt, arguing that African football continues to produce many of the world's quickest, most dynamic players and remains central to the sport's future.
The launch reflects a broader commitment by PUMA to football across Africa, where the brand continues to invest in both national teams and emerging talent.
Recognising the changing demands of the modern game, the ULTRA NITRO™ 7 will also be available in multiple configurations, including a laceless edition and a women's-specific fit, the latter developed around the anatomy of the female foot while incorporating the same NITROFOAM™ ELITE technology.
According to Andrej Zwer, PUMA's Director of Product Line Management for Teamsport Footwear, player feedback played a decisive role throughout development.
"Every detail in the ULTRA NITRO™ 7 exists to make fast players faster. The new speed last, the weight reduction, the laceless option are decisions we made because the players we work with told us exactly what they needed, and we built it."

The ULTRA NITRO™ 7 arrives as part of PUMA's new Q3 Arrival Pack, alongside the FUTURE 9 ULTIMATE, designed for creative playmakers, and the latest KING 20 ULTIMATE, offering three distinct boot concepts aimed at different styles of football.
The collection is already being worn by a number of PUMA's highest-profile athletes, including Neymar Jr., Marc Cucurella, Xavi Simons, Cody Gakpo, Christian Pulisic, Morgan Rogers, Ibrahim Sangaré, Kalidou Koulibaly and Samir El Mourabet.
The PUMA ULTRA NITRO™ 7 is available now through PUMA stores, PUMA.com, and selected retail partners across Africa.
