The UK’s cheesiest pizza arrives in Soho
There are food moments designed to be enjoyed quietly. This is not one of them.
This January, Soho becomes the epicentre of indulgence as the UK’s cheesiest pizza lands in the capital. Loaded with an astonishing sixty four different cheeses and crowned with a whole ball of burrata, the aptly named 64 Cheese Pizza is arriving for one day only, and it is already shaping up to be one of London’s most talked about culinary spectacles of the year.
Created exclusively for National Cheese Lovers Day, the pizza launches on the twentieth of January at 64 Old Compton Street, bringing together excess, craftsmanship and a knowing sense of fun.
A celebration of cheese without restraint
Forget restraint. Forget moderation. This is cheese in its most celebratory form.
The 64 Cheese Pizza features an extraordinary mix of cheeses from across the world, blending familiar favourites such as mozzarella, parmigiano reggiano, pecorino and ricotta with bolder, more complex notes from blue and goats cheese. The result is a layered, molten base designed for maximum richness and dramatic cheese pulls that are practically made for social sharing.
The final flourish comes in the form of a whole ball of burrata placed at the centre, adding a soft, luxurious contrast to the intensity beneath. It is indulgent, theatrical and entirely unapologetic.
The mind behind the madness
The creation comes from Nima Safaei, executive chef and owner of 64 Old Compton Street, a name long associated with Soho’s confident, crowd pleasing food scene.
For Safaei, cheese is not a novelty ingredient but a cornerstone of Italian cooking. This pizza takes the familiarity of a margherita and pushes it to joyful extremes, combining cheeses from across cultures into a single, playful statement.
He describes the dish as a celebration rather than a gimmick, rooted in the everyday importance of cheese in Italian cuisine but elevated into something deliberately over the top. It is designed to be shared, photographed and remembered.
Available for one day only and exclusively via pre order, the 64 Cheese Pizza will be served on National Cheese Lovers Day and then disappear just as quickly as it arrived. Once it is gone, it is gone.
In a city that rarely lacks spectacle, this feels like a distinctly Soho moment. Bold, indulgent and entirely self aware. A pizza that does not pretend to be subtle, healthy or sensible.
Sometimes, food is about comfort. Sometimes it is about craft. And sometimes, it is about going all in on sixty four cheeses and enjoying every last bite.
