Kenny Atkinson is bringing House of Tides to London for one night
Kenny Atkinson brings House of Tides to London on October 7, serving a five-course tasting menu at Solaya in Hoxton for one night only.

The Michelin starred chef will bring his Newcastle restaurant south for a five course dinner at Solaya, giving London diners a rare opportunity to experience House of Tides without leaving the capital.
For more than a decade, Kenny Atkinson’s House of Tides has occupied a sixteenth century former merchant’s townhouse on Newcastle’s historic Quayside. On October 7, its kitchen is heading considerably further south.
Atkinson and his House of Tides team will take over Solaya in Hoxton for a single evening, serving a five course tasting menu on the 25th floor of art’otel London Hoxton.

The connection between the two restaurants is closer than the usual visiting chef dinner. Atkinson is also the concept chef behind Solaya, which opened in September 2025 as his first solo London venture. Where Solaya looks towards Southern France and the Mediterranean, the October dinner will give him an opportunity to bring the cooking of his established Newcastle restaurant directly into the capital.
House of Tides comes south
Atkinson opened House of Tides with his wife Abbie in 2014, establishing a restaurant intended to combine ambitious cooking with a less formal dining room. It received a Michelin star in 2015 and has retained it since.
For the London dinner, the emphasis remains on seasonal British ingredients and the precise cooking associated with the Newcastle restaurant.
The menu includes steamed Lindisfarne oyster with bonito butter sauce, caviar and walnut, followed by dishes including pan roasted sea bass with cauliflower, ajo blanco, pickled grapes and sea herbs.
A slow roasted saddle of Highland venison is paired with smoked beetroot, salsify and blackberry, while dark chocolate and hazelnut mousse closes the five course menu.

There is an obvious geographical thread running through some of those ingredients. Lindisfarne oysters in particular bring a recognisable piece of the North East to a dining room overlooking London.
Two restaurants, one chef
The takeover also provides an interesting opportunity to see Atkinson’s two restaurant identities in the same room.
Solaya is built around a French Mediterranean proposition, with seasonal dishes designed for sharing and a dining room surrounded by panoramic views of the capital. House of Tides has developed over 12 years around its Newcastle location and a tasting menu format.
Rather than creating another permanent London version of House of Tides, the October dinner temporarily places that restaurant inside Atkinson’s newer project.

For London diners who have followed the chef without travelling to Newcastle, it is a considerably shorter introduction.
The House of Tides takeover takes place at Solaya on October 7. The five course tasting menu costs £95 per person, with optional wine pairings at £70 or £95. A vegetarian menu will also be available.
