temper is celebrating Diìa de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) for the third year running, and will be carrying on the celebrations for five days, culminating in a party at temper Soho complete with a Mariachi band.
To highlight the annual event and celebrate in true temper style they have created limited edition dishes exclusively for dinner available at all temper restaurants, (Soho, Covent Garden, City and Shoreditch). Served from Friday 28th October until Wednesday 2nd November. Menu highlights will include a sugary, orange blossom-laced Pan de Muerto bread (£12) from specialist Mexican bakery Sweet Nibble, filled with homemade cochinita pibil. A ‘ nose-to-tail’ pumpkin taco (£10) served with caramelised, roasted pumpkin, with pumpkin seed salsa, dehydrated pumpkin powder and smoked labneh.
Throughout the evenings of Friday and Saturday temper will be serving specials featuring smoked chicken tamal (£16) served with a side of smoked pork shoulder and a choice of frijoles as a side.(£8). Tuesday and Wednesday nights will see a smoked chicken pozole stew (£16) plus a classic Mexican side of rajas poblanas (£6.50).
temper restaurants will be decked out in custom-made papel picado decorations throughout the celebrations, and guests are encouraged to dress up! On the big day itself (Wednesday 2nd October) temper Soho will play hosts to our old friends from Mariachi Amigo, where live music / singers will perform to guests from 6.30pm-7pm and 8-8.30pm. Get stuck into the tequila and mezcal menu and don’t miss out on their biggest party of the year...
