
Yesterday (Thursday 16th August) the world 'lost it's soul' as it was announced that Soul singing legend Aretha Franklin has passed away after a battle with an illness. We are looking back through her top 10 songs as chosen by us here at Hinton.
Aretha Louise Franklin was born in Memphis, Tennessee, U.S on March 25, 1942. to parents Clarence LaVaughn Franklin and Barbara Siggers Franklin, she was one of four children. She started performing at the age of 14 (1956) and rose to fame quickly, by the 1960's she was known as the 'Queen of Soul'. She was loved by millions for her music and for being herself.
